Ever heard of Hikaru Nakamura? Born on December 9, 1987, in Hirakata, Japan, Hikaru is the guy who redefined what it means to be a chess prodigy.
He moved to the U.S. at the age of two and was introduced to chess by his stepdad, Sunil Weeramantry, a FIDE Master. By age seven, Hikaru was already showing serious promise.
